Singapore: yes, you too can leave for a weekend
From Singapore you can leave for a weekend to Pulau Tioman or Pulau Rawa in Malaysia. You take a bus from the beach road terminal, there are several transport agencies (five stars), the bus takes 4 hours from Singapore to Mersing (Malaysia) and there you take a boat that you must book in advance with your hotel it's easier than looking for a boat on the spot !!
In Malaysia there are also the Camerons Highlands , they are tea plantations on the terrace, I have never been, but it is quite beautiful it seems!
Or you take the plane in less than 2 hours you are elsewhere! You have many destinations available to you, Thailand (Bangkok, Chang Mai, Krabi, Phuket, ..), Indonesia (Bali, ..), Vietnam (Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, ..)
Another great option is to rent a villa in south east asia with Villa Finder , a Singapore based agency.
If you do it early you find cheap tickets with Air Asia, Tiger Airways or Cebu Pacific, sometimes even Singapore airlines or Silk Air. and KLM for Bali!
